The Institute of African Leadership for Sustainable Development, commonly known as UONGOZI Institute, is a regional leadership development hub operating under the Office of the President of the United Republic of Tanzania. Established in 2010 by the Governments of Tanzania and Finland, the Institute is dedicated to inspiring and equipping African leaders to deliver inclusive and sustainable solutions for their nations and the wider continent.

This position involves supporting procurement plans, including tendering processes, logistics, and inventory management. The intern will work with the Procurement Management Unit and report to the Senior Procurement and Supplies Officer.

General Requirements & Application Process

To be eligible, you must have a bachelor’s degree in a relevant field and be proficient in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and internet search tools. Strong communication skills in both English and Swahili are also required, as is the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment. While not required, volunteering experience is preferred.
