Japan Tobacco International (JTI) operates in Tanzania through its majority stake in the Tanzania Cigarette Public Company Ltd. (TCC Plc) and its agricultural business, JTI Leaf Services (JTILS). JTI has been the majority shareholder of TCC Plc since 2000 and currently holds a 75% stake. TCC is the country’s sole cigarette producer and holds a dominant share of the domestic market.
