Mbeya Cement Company Limited (MCCL) is a Tanzanian cement manufacturer and a member of the Amsons Group. Operating under the brand name Tembo Cement, the company’s manufacturing plant and head office are located in the Songwe Industrial Area near Mbeya in southwest Tanzania. The company was founded by the Government of Tanzania more than 40 years ago.

Main Responsibilities

• Implement routine Preventive Maintenance checks, including vibration and temperature inspections on designated rotating equipment, and accurately log all readings.
• Repair and maintain static equipment, including valves, pipework, pressure vessels, and tanks.
• Execute all planned mechanical activities while strictly adhering to required safety standards.
• Troubleshoot and conduct basic Root Cause Analysis for equipment, identifying and reporting issues promptly.
• Ensure full compliance with standards, tolerances, and fits, applying sound engineering practices to all tasks, both on-site and occasionally in contractor workshops.
• Report on resource and time usage, job scope expansions, rework, or deferred maintenance, ensuring all tasks and activities are logged and updated.

Qualifications & Competencies

• Education: Diploma in Mechanical Engineering
• Experience: Minimum three (3) years of experience in the manufacturing/extractive industries
• Technical Skills:
  • Mechanical upgrading skills (Fitter, Welding, and Turning)
  • Belt splicing technology (cold repair, hot splicing, pulley lagging, and belt alignment)
  • Reading technical and specification sheets
  • Hands-on equipment experience
• Behavioral Skills: Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities
